My Bill FAQ

A customer charge is an amount applied to your bill that recovers a portion of the costs it takes to serve you. These costs include the cost of the pipes or wires and meters. Customer charges also include operation and maintenance costs such as purchasing energy, reading meters, billing and accounting.
A therm is a unit of heating value equal to 100,000 British thermal units, or Btu's. The amount of heat contained in each cubic foot of gas varies. Samples of the gas we deliver are measured each day to ensure that the gas delivered to you contains 100,000 Btu's of energy.
